Discover the local area
Whether you come with your own car, or rent one during your stay, the unspoiled beauty of this stretch of Aegean coastline is breathtaking and well worth exploring the local villages (Bayır, Soğut, Selimiye) to catch a glimpse of Turkish life as it’s been for generations. The immediate surroundings are a dream come true for lovers of nature and the outdoors. The clear blue sea is ideal for snorkelling and there are plenty of historical sites to visit: Knidos, Loryma, and Amos to name but a few.

Amos
Located midway between Dionysos and Turunç, set above a small bay. Here you can see the fairly well preserved remains of an amphitheatre as well as remnants of towers, outer ramparts and the defensive town walls. The earliest settlement at Amos dates back to the Hellenistic period.
Knidos
The ancient settlement of Knidos is situated right at the end of the Datça Peninsula and was part of the ancient Greek Dorian-Hexapolis, it features excellent examples of Carian architecture in an unspoilt archaeological site. One of the significant ruins is the Hellenistic amphitheatre that was built with a panoramic view out over the sea. The largest is a 6km long necropolis, and there are temples, an altar, agora and churches to see.
